Hey LDG Family,
Here's an update from last week's session, Liquid-Live at Five titled, "Bad Day."
The question was asked in the beginning, "Christians are a lot like tea bags: you don't know what they are made of until you put them into hot water." Scared to find out? Don't be because God's Word says, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. " Isaiah 43:2
You will be tested. The question is will you pass or fail? We must remember that God never test us without a reason. And if we ask Him to help us, He will see us through and walk beside us. The Holy Spirit is there for us as our guide and helper. We must ask Him to help us in times of need.
God's ultimate purpose is to conform us into the image of Jesus Christ. Some trials and testings will show us immediate results, while others will produce long term ones.
During our session, we focused on the verses, James 1:2-4, "Consider it pure joy whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything." Romans 5:2-4 (Great job with Hangman!) says, "We rejoice in the hope of the glory of God but we also rejoice in tribulations, because tribulations produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character produces hope." So in the end there is hope!!
"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." Isaiah 40:31
That's it for now. Also wanted to say that we had an awesome time of prayer. Thanks Norell for your courage!
We look forward to seeing all of you again and hopefully some new faces. Next time we meet will be 12/7. Further information to come.
Let me here your thoughts about what you are made of when you have bad days.
